Meet Erika, your Renal Nutrition Expert

Hi, I am Erika. I am a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition, AKA your renal nutrition expert! I was born and raised in Brazil. My passion for nutrition started when I was very young. As I grew up on a little farm, I watched my grandparents plant and harvest almost everything that we had on our table. I was always fascinated by this, so I decided to study nutrition and learn more about the effects that food has on our bodies. I earned my first B.S. in Nutrition in Brazil, and my passion for the career has been constant since I embarked on this journey. After earning my B.S. in Nutrition, I specialized in Sports nutrition while still living in Brazil. I worked in the sports nutrition field, helping athletes to meet their goals, such as weight loss, gain, or performance. Several years later I moved to the United States to further my experience in the nutrition industry. I earned my second B.S. in Nutrition in the United States and became a Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition. Since then I have obtained experience in managing different illnesses, such as Cardio-Respiratory Diseases, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Malnutrition, and my favorite, Renal Diseases. During my time working as a dietitian, I see that most people have a basic understanding of nutrition. Nutrition can change the story of your life. My objective when working with you is to help you preserve kidney function with the power of nutrition. There is no “one size fits all” approach to renal health. You will learn how to create a good relationship with food and have no fear when it comes to managing your kidney disease.
